Granny’s Salad Dressing

An ancient recipe from my husband’s family. I have rediscovered it for myself and today I always keep a bottle filled with this dressing in our fridge.

It tastes good, is healthy and speeds up salad making on a busy day. Interested?

You need:
1/2 liter of water
1 teaspoon  of flour (lupine, spelled or white flour)
3 good pinches of salt
2 teaspoons of mustard
2 dl vinegar
Oil of your choice
1 liter glass bottle

First you boil the water, flour and salt and let it cool off. Then fill the cool liquid into the glass bottle and add the mustard and the vinegar. Finally, fill up the bottle with oil. I prefer a mixture of grape seed-, linseed-, pumpkin seed- and sesame seed oil. Before each use you need to shake the bottle  well. Add fresh herbs and/or spices to the dressing as you like it. My favorits are: radish pesto, garlic, lemonjuce, mustard, basil and/or chives.

Enjoy!
