Relaxing Bath

On days when I feel tired, I treat myself with this wonderful bath. It takes effect to clean and relax your body and soul and helps to prepare you for coming days like this holiday season.

The best time to treat yourself with this bath is before going to bed. If combined with candlelight and meditative music the result is even better . You can be assured of a deep and restful sleep.

To prepare you need:
1.5 kg of salt (Himalayan or rock salt. A product without added fluorine)
250 g bicarbonade of soda (baking soda)
a few drops of essential oil of your choice (my preference in the evening: lavender or rose oil)

Pour the salt and bicarbonate of soda into the bathtub and drip the selected essential oil over it. This way the oil can develop. Then fill the bathtub with water. During the filling stirr the salt and bicarbonate of soda with your hand from time to time. Like this the mixture can dissolve well in the water.

Now nothing can keep you from taking a relaxing bath. Have fun!

Good to know:
The bath water temperature should be adjusted according to your preference. It is recommended to be  approximately 37° Celsius.

I like to stay in the water for about 30 minutes and I do not shower afterwards.

Thanks to the high salt content, the skin benefits. In addition, the bath has an anti-inflammatory effect and strengthens the immune system. It is also reported to have a purifying effect, as the body releases toxins into the bath water. Further it supports the deacidification and leads  to a balanced and healthy pH-value of the skin.

Bicarbonade of soda is a chemical compund with the formula NaHCO3. It is also called baking soda, bread soda or cooking soda. Due to the high pH value it is basic and neutralizes the hyperacidity (stomach acidity) in the body. It must not be confused with sodium carbonate (washing soda).

This bath is not recommended for people with heart or circulatory problems.

If you have medical problems, ask your doctor before trying this bath.
